Civic Innovation and Democracy: A Strong Alliance in the Digital Age

On June 28th, Europuls and SEE organized the “Civic Innovation and Democracy: A Strong Alliance in the Digital Age”  public consultation in Brussels, in the context of the EU Council’s Romanian presidency in 2019 .

The panel discussions addressed ways that digital tools can be used by democratic institutions and how citizens play a key role in the application of digital democracy processes.

The panel was moderated by Laura Visan and included Pedro Obando (DG Connect, European Commission), David Osimo (the Lisbon Council), and SEE’s Dan Nechita and Diana Popp as speakers. A policy paper containing highlights from the consultation and recommendations for the Romanian presidency of the EU Council will be made available at a later time this year.
